Anakkara is small village located in Udumbanchola Taluka of Idukki district, Kerala with total 5962 families residing. The Anakkara village has population of 24192 of which 12056 are males while 12136 are females as per Population Census 2011. In Anakkara village population of children with age 0-6 is 2380 which makes up 9.84 % of total population of village. Average Sex Ratio of Anakkara village is 1007 which is lower than Kerala state average of 1084. Child Sex Ratio for the Anakkara as per census is 932, lower than Kerala average of 964.
Anakkara village has lower literacy rate compared to Kerala. In 2011, literacy rate of Anakkara village was 92.04 % compared to 94.00 % of Kerala. In Anakkara Male literacy stands at 94.23 % while female literacy rate was 89.88 %
Workers in the State of Anakkara are calculated as 11,231 of which 7,273 are males and 3,958 are females. Further 10,047 are regular and 1,184 are Irregular i.e get jobs only few days in a month. There are 12,961 Non Workers (include students, house wife’s, and children above 6 years also.)

Majority of people living in villages have understood the importance of education and know that it is the only way to get rid of poverty. so developing a learning center in rural area will definitely help the development of that area
So providing a learning center will increase the literacy rate of Anakkara and also help the workers to improve their agriculture techniques by giving them classes and this learning center will also act as a community Centre for anakkara village .
