Details

The basic approach of the new synthesis of structure was: the economy of its realization means, its construction honest and disciplined plasticity conversing with the spirit of the Greek landscape. The new structure consists of a concrete shell, brick, built on three separate stages. The vault, an architectural element timeless and interregional crowning spanning from antiquity to Modernism, interacts with the intimate space of the artist’s house, the “cell”.

The new structure is located in the north-south axis, and orthogonal plan is divided into 3 areas: First, the overhang of the balcony on the south, where there is access, second, the artiste workspace and finally the attic in the north, which serves as warehouse space. A staircase of a section connects the two levels, with cantilevered concrete steps can serve as exhibition stands for the artist’s works. The openings in the walls, are related to the sun’s trajectory, the interior lighting and ventilation, deriban transverse horizontal section of the building shell.
