EDITECTURE has made history by creating a one-of-a-kind tree that transforms into 21 pieces of furniture, making it the first ever Christmas tree that is 0% wastage, 100% reusable and 100% using recyclable materials – including the structure and components itself. It contains a total of 7 layers; each layer carefully designed to be reconfigured into furniture sets that comprises of biodegradable materials sourced from 38,600 recycled plastic bottles at The Upper House and the upcycled materials from EDITECTURE. The furniture sets include 1 star light, 5 side tables, 2 lamp shades, 4 stools, 1 large table and 8 chairs. Each piece is printed using the biggest upcycling 3D printer at inhouse [RE] EDIT LAB in Hong Kong that EDITECTURE has brought in to expand their sustainability focus in their designs. The upcycling printer is able to print up to 1m x 1.2m upcycled plastic printing. With innovation and technology, wastage is reduced during sampling whilst R&D processes can be monitored in minutes.

At EDITECTURE, sustainability and giving back have continued to be the key focus that drives the design studio. To celebrate the true meaning of Christmas – “of sharing joy with the wider community”, this one-of-a-kind Christmas tree is available for auction with all proceeds benefitting a charity organisation which supports under privileged families living in subdivided flats. a one-of-a-kind tree that transforms into 21 pieces of furniture, making it the first ever Christmas tree that is 0% wastage, 100% reusable and 100% using recyclable materials – including the structure and components itself.
