Located across from Saratoga Spa State Park and positioned between the Adirondacks, Catskills, Green Mountains, and Berkshires, the site was envisioned as a gateway experience that connects visitors to both the surrounding natural landscape and the Tree House brand.
The project includes site planning, architecture, and interior design across an 11-acre campus. The architectural concept draws from modern agrarian forms paired with contemporary materials, creating a structure that feels both rooted in regional tradition and aligned with Tree House’s evolving brand identity.

Inside, the 534-seat taproom is defined by large gabled curtainwalls and skylights that flood the space with natural light. The guest experience begins in a retail area inspired by camping culture before transitioning into the taproom, where a 40-tap bar anchors the space. A custom 12-foot-wide topographic map spanning 200 miles highlights the surrounding region and reinforces the project’s connection to outdoor exploration.
Interior design elements reference the nostalgia of a camping trip through materials and details such as indigenous hardwoods, peeled pine log millwork, climbing rope accents, lantern lighting, and textiles inspired by classic outdoor gear. A central 8-foot diameter, 360-degree fireplace with a 12-foot Saratoga granite hearth serves as a year-round gathering point, while four live sugar maple trees and native grasses integrate natural elements directly into the interior environment.

The outdoor program extends the destination experience with a wraparound covered patio, a football-field-sized lawn, and two regulation bocce courts designed to support large seasonal crowds. Sustainability strategies were integrated across the campus through natural grasses, wildflowers, permeable paving, and EV charging infrastructure.
Delivered on an ambitious nine-month construction timeline and navigating Gateway District approvals, the Saratoga Springs Outpost establishes Tree House Brewing Company as a major regional destination and a new gateway to craft beer and outdoor culture in Upstate New York.
