This is a monument for the cycling road called “Okukuji Cycle Route” The planned site has been known since ancient times as a wood-producing area, and we hoped that the building would become a symbol of the “town of wood.”

We hope it will become a medium of communication between visitors and the town, and for that to happen, we thought it was necessary to share the image by abstracting the message of wood.



It was made using offcuts of local cedar as laminated lumber, and was assembled using “mortise and tenon”, a construction method that supports traditional Japanese wooden architecture.
