The heart and soul of this apartment has been built from the ground up. It took over seven months to relentlessly plan, source, execute and convert a blank canvas into a home that is innovative, functional and luxurious, all at once.

The client meeting was as brief as it could get and in the precious time that lapsed, the brief shared was, if anything, a bit vague. The client wanted the home to have the functionality, innovation and luxurious-styling of a five-star hotel and simultaneously have the warmth and comfort of a home. Without any more details, it was quite a tall order to fulfil, but here, in the absence of restrictions and a predefined conclusion — creativity gave birth to brilliance.
The property was at a nascent stage and presented a blank canvas to fill. While much of the original layout was kept intact (with minimal structural changes), two out of four bedrooms were merged to create a larger master bedroom with a personalised walk-in wardrobe and a large en-suite. A powder room was also incorporated in the planning and made accessible from the living and dining area.

Every single design element in this apartment was custom designed. The aim was to incorporate the best — premier materials, cutting-edge automation, exacting space planning, and the works.
Once the design language was defined and the palette finalised, it was easy to incorporate different materials. It was more about striking the right balance and ensuring that it’s not overdone. Maintaining the integrity of each material was very critical and challenging.

Light plays the unassuming hero in this apartment. It is the most vital element of any designed space as it could either make or break the look with its impact. Light reflects and reacts differently on various materials. It is this very characteristic that was judiciously explored as an essential tool to enhance the look and feel of the spaces inside. A conscious attempt was made to not use white light but rather use warm daylight in combination with a warmer light as that would give a sense of warmth and comfort to the space.
