Tree House embarked on a mission to revitalize a well-known Tewksbury community landmark, infusing it with new life while preserving its sentimental value and history. Tree House, with a unique location-driven business model centered exclusively on in-house beverage sales, aimed to create another regional outpost that differentiated itself through novelty. This endeavor included groundbreaking elements like the introduction of the first-ever combined brewery, golf course, and restaurant facility in the region.

Tree House Greater Boston stands as a testament to the artful blend of heritage and innovation in adaptive reuse. Nestled within a post and beam construction, the building’s exposed wood beams and natural structure were lovingly retained. Outside, the entire facade cloaked in black delivers a bold statement to passersby. Inside, dark walnut millwork adds warmth and depth, complemented by custom graphics adorning the walls and bespoke area rugs underfoot. Drawing inspiration from the traditional elegance of golf clubhouses merged seamlessly with Tree House’s brand, the design palette juxtaposes charcoal walls with rich wood accents, punctuated by bursts of Tree House’s core beer colorway, and accented with blackened steel and copper detailing. The custom-designed matte black chandeliers, with their ethereal glass globes, bathe the space in a soft, inviting glow, completing this masterful symphony of texture, color, and ambiance. These customizations resulted in a space that seamlessly blended key brand elements into a unique and captivating hospitality environment.
Integrating a golf course into the brewery setting required a careful balance of existing flows and new experiences. By establishing a strong retail presence and multiple layers of customizations, visitors are met with a unique, cohesive experience that emphasizes the synergy between the two worlds of craft beer and golf. The project not only met but surpassed its objectives, emphasizing the maturity of the Tree House brand and its essence in this specific geography, all while weaving thoughtful design elements throughout—an embodiment of Bergmeyer’s Design Collaborative ethos.
