Nam Quang Landmark Tower design is inspired in the Vietnamese Silk Lanterns, its materials, shapes and textures. The curvy shape of the tower is a replica of the lantern’s bamboo frame. The façades on podium areas are designed to be translucent, transmitting daylight inside during daytime and shining like a beacon at night time, replicating the lantern function.
The design focuses on a combination of modern and traditional look of Vietnam, which leads to the form of a modern tower in a shape of Vietnamese traditional lantern. Glass curtain wall facade, with terracotta mullions, and translucent stone cladding on retail podium. The curvy shape of the tower is a replica of Vietnamese Silk Lantern’s bamboo frame. The podium façades are designed to be translucent, transmitting daylight inside during daytime and shining like a beacon at night time, replicating the lantern function.
The whole concept breathes from the history of the Vietnamese culture and represent a new architectural landmark of Saigon. The tower contains 31 floors with 5 levels of retail on podium, 8 floors of commercial office and 18 floors of residential with 172 apartments.
