Rethinking The Future Awards 2023 | Categories

Rethinking The Future Awards 2023 offers more than 60 award categories, including concept and built categories. The Rethinking the Future award categories are grouped in five focus areas: Architecture, Interior design, Landscape, Construction and Design. Each of the mentioned categories have sub-categories including ‘Built’ and ‘Concept’ which can be selected while registration of the project.

Firms are allowed and encouraged to submit multiple entries in various categories in the RTF Awards 2023.

#Architecture

A1:
Pop-ups and Temporary
(Built / Concept)

This award recognizes the year’s best architectural temporary structure or pop-ups that come in public places, or exhibition and installations etc.

A2:
Private Residence (Small-Medium)
(Built / Concept)

This award recognizes the best residential projects (<2500 SQ FT builtup) that provide a comfortable living environment for residents in their respective climates.

A3:
Private Residence (Large)
(Built / Concept)

This award recognizes the best residential projects (>2500 SQ FT builtup) that provide a comfortable living environment for residents in their respective climates.

A4:
Commercial
(Built / Concept)

This award recognizes the architectural excellence and innovations in commercial buildings that serve the need of commercial spaces with new innovations.

A5:
Cultural
(Built / Concept)

This Award recognizes expressive and forward-thinking cultural centers. Projects that symbolize their local culture and become an all-inclusive hub for the public.

A6:
Hospitality
(Built / Concept)

This Award recognizes excellence in Conceptualizing a brand into an Architectural form while keeping the smooth functioning of the project intact.

A7:
Industrial
(Built / Concept)

This Award recognizes creativity and innovation in highly functional and productivity-oriented industrial Architecture.

A8:
Housing (upto 5 floors)
(Built / Concept)

This Award recognizes group housing projects (upto 5 floors) that are innovative in their approach and create new experiences.

A9:
Housing (over 5 floors)
(Built / Concept)

This Award recognizes group housing projects (over 5 floors) designed for a large number of distinct families living in densely populated areas of the city.

A10:
Institutional
(Built / Concept)

This award recognises the architectural excellence and innovations in the Institutional Buildings such as Schools, Colleges, Campuses, Hospitals, Transport terminals etc. Projects that define some new directions.

A11:
Mixed Use
(Built / Concept)

This award recognizes the year’s best mixed-use structure featuring a combination of one or more categories, such as hospitality and commercial or residential and commercial or a mixture of all the three categories.

A12:
Office building
(Built / Concept)

We spend a third of our lives at our workspaces, they ought to be designed well. This Award recognizes excellence in office spaces: communication of the corporate identity and  and designing a highly productive workspace.

A13:
Public Building
(Built / Concept)

This award has been instituted to recognise architectural excellence for buildings or complexes in public or private sector for government, social, cultural, or religious purposes  that seek the new architectural language.

A14:
Sports & Recreation Project
(Built / Concept)

This Award recognizes innovation and excellence in Sports and Recreational Spaces that defines new architectural language. These include Football grounds, Ice Hockey Arena, Shooting range, Outdoor gyms, Swimming Pool, etc.

A15:
Transportation
(Built / Concept)

The value of quality transportation cannot be overstated. This award recognizes  projects that are making travel smoother, safer, and less congested for millions of motorists every day (or could if it gets built). Projects in this category include:  Airports, Train and Bus Terminals, Bridges, etc

A16:
Urban Design
(Built / Concept)

This Award recognises the urban design strategies which transform cities into more stimulating environments for human life. The ideas capable of responding to emerging challenges in areas such as ecology, information technology, socialization and globalization.

Interior design project featuring innovations in providing the comfortable living environment for inhabitants that characterizes the new models for living.

Retail (Interior)

This award recognizes the perfection and excellence in commercial interior spaces like retail showrooms with innovations as of already known to us.

Workplace (Interior)

This award has been instituted to recognize the best projects in corporate interior spaces. Designs that look for the new building dialect to fulfill the utilitarian necessities.

This award recognizes the perfection and excellence in commercial interior spaces like hotels, food courts etc with innovations and new design language.

Healthcare / Wellness (Interior)
(Built / Concept)

This award has been instituted to recognize the best projects in Wellness interior spaces that look for the new building dialect to fulfill the utilitarian necessities.

This Award category aims to recognise innovation and best practices in resource-efficient and environmentally responsible construction by an Architecture Firm / Construction company.

C2:
Heavy Machinery Design Award (Concept / Realized)

This Award category aims to recognize excellence and innovation in construction machinery designed by professional designers, design companies and producers worldwide.

C3:
Technological Innovation of the year

This award aims to recognize innovations in the field of construction technology, ranging from integration of new technologies in the workflow to successful experimentation

C4:
Diversity & Inclusion Award

This award is to recognize any company or individual showing great strides driving change and diversity and inclusivity in a workplace or on a project. The judges are looking to hear about inspiring organizations, initiatives or individuals that are progressing championing diversity & inclusion in construction.

C5:
Offsite Construction Project of the Year
(Built / Concept)

This Award celebrates outstanding innovation, best practice and expertise in an offsite construction project paving the way for other companies to innovate further.

C6:
Women in Construction Award

This award category is for any company or individual championing equality and driving change within a workplace or on a project. The judges are looking to hear about inspiring organizations initiatives or individuals that are progressing or championing the important role of women in construction.

C7:
Healthy & Safety solution

Providing a safe working environment for every person involved in the construction process is vital. This award celebrates outstanding contribution to improved H&S in the industry, whether through a specific product or process adaptation.

This award recognizes the year’s best furniture design either outdoor or indoor that is an innovative solution to comfort living and environment.

This award recognizes innovation in brand identity and storytelling through exhibition design.

Signage Design

Kitchenware Design

Kitchen is a reflection of the lifestyle of its residents and this award recognizes excellence in Bakeware, Tableware Drinkware and Cookware design.

Interior Design Elements

This Award recognizes excellence and innovation in Interior Design Elements that do not fit into any other category.

Fashion, Lifestyle and Accessories

This Award recognizes excellence and innovation in Fashion, Lifestyle and Accessories design.
