RTF Awards — Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

This website is operated by Rethinking Internet Media Pvt Ltd, trading as Rethinking The Future ("RTF", "we"), the organiser of the RTF Awards and the Global Architecture & Design Awards (GADA). RTF is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. Contact: [email protected].

2. What we collect

• Registration data — name, email address, studio/firm/university, country, project details and category selections you enter in our forms.
• Submission data — the files, links, texts and credits you submit for judging.
• Payment status — confirmation of payment from PayPal. We never see or store your card numbers, bank details or PayPal password; payments are processed entirely by PayPal under its own privacy policy.
• Technical data — IP address, browser type, pages visited and similar analytics data, collected via cookies and comparable technologies.
• Communications — emails you exchange with us, and web push subscriptions if you opt in to notifications.

3. Why we use it

• to operate the awards: process registrations and payments, issue Registration IDs, run judging, announce results and publish winning entries with credits (performance of our contract with you);
• to communicate with you about your registration, submission and results (contract);
• to send you news about RTF programmes, calls for entries and results (legitimate interest / consent — every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link);
• to secure the website, prevent spam and fraud, and enforce our Terms & Conditions (legitimate interest);
• to comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations.

4. Who we share it with

We share personal data only as needed to run the awards: with PayPal (payments); our website hosting, security, analytics, push-notification and email-delivery providers; and jurors and reviewers, who receive entry materials under confidentiality and, during judging, in anonymised form wherever possible. We do not sell personal data. Winner names, firm names, project credits and countries are published as an inherent part of the awards.

5. International transfers

We operate globally; your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including India, the United States and the European Union, with reasonable safeguards in place.

6. Retention

Registration and payment records are kept as long as required for legal, tax and accounting purposes. Published winner and archive content is retained indefinitely as part of the historical record of the awards. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe.

7. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functions, performance/caching, analytics and (only if you opt in) web push notifications. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may affect site functionality.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including the GDPR where it applies and India’s DPDP Act), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, and unsubscribe from marketing at any time. Note that data required for legal records, and content already published as part of announced results, may be retained or continue to be displayed where we have lawful grounds.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — HTTPS, access controls, anti-spam and security tooling — to protect personal data. No internet transmission is 100% secure, and you provide data at your own risk to that extent.

10. Children

This website and the awards are intended for professionals and higher-education students. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

11. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time by publishing the revised version on this page with a new date.
